Lego & Star Wars – When Opposites Attract
If you were to reach back into your childhood remembering, and pick your preferred plaything off your psychological shelf, prospects are pretty darn great, that it wasn’t some tired hand-me-down Lego set. As we’ve all grown up, our tastes for a variety of things has transformed. Not the least of which would be our playday distractions.
After taking a pummeling on their profit sheet, Lego, being a pretty astute bunch of characters, made some grand decisions about exactly what they were selling, and who they were selling it to. Sometimes it’s tricky to differentiate between who should be a competitor, and who should be a collaborator. While I’m sure when Star Wars first came out, the huge number of Star Wars memorabilia sales, cut into Lego’s earnings. Who could have guessed, that a few ages later the two companies would actually make for ideal partners.
And so came forth unto the world, boatloads of Star Wars and Lego toys.
I defy anyone of you, to find a more winning franchise in pop-culture as Star Wars. Whoever the genius was, that suggest such a marriage, can pat themselves on the back for stimulating Lego, their bottom line, and padding bottom line of the Lucas Corporation. While as a nipper, most of my Lego creations only lasted for a few days the best, before being broken into pieces and put back in the box. Most of the Lego Star Wars toys, are meant to be put together one time and displayed indefinitely.
If you really want to be impressed, or at least have the small fry in you impressed, you should spend some time checking out what Star Wars, and the Lego corporation have put in concert for you. Just about any memorable scene from the Star Wars movies, can be detected reimagined through the Lego catalogue of Star Wars toys. If you envision a very intricately detailed Millennium Falcon Lego Set then it can be had, an Imperial Cruiser Lego Set then it too can be had. Perhaps you are more of a Death Star Lego Set kind of guy or possibly an X-Wing fighter Lego kit afficionado, it doesn’t matter because they are ALL available.Don’t assume that because these collectibles can be put together in a few hours or days, that your enjoyment of them ends when they’re done. They are after all of excellent craftsmanship and the quite suitable for displaying. You can of course just picking apart, pack them away and build them again another day just for the heck of it. If you’re searching for something to do with someone, a Star Wars Lego collectible makes a fantastic choice. One of the bigger ones, can be a great time spent with family.
If you’ve ever sat and questioned whatever happened to those Legos from your childhood, they have joined forces with another blockbuster from your childhood and unitedly they are going to be around for generations to come.
