Make Money Online at Home – Is it Possible

30 July, 2009 (05:05) | Uncategorized | By: daddyo

Can You Really Make Money Online With Your Blog?

In today internet world, almost everyone who knows how to access internet has a blog. Although most of bloggers are blogging for fun or just want to share something online, there are people use it to make money and earn an income from it. You may hear that there are people making luxury income solely from blogging, but statistic shows that 90% of bloggers who have tried to make money with their blog failed to make a penny. So, can you really make money with blog?.

Today it is possible to make money online from home in several different ways. Home based internet businesses are booming all over the world. From selling e-Books to diet pills, or services like web development and article writing, a lot of people are jumping on the bandwagon. Many entrepreneurs are missing out on an important way to increase their profits: 2 tier affiliate programs.

Chances are you have read somewhere to focus on niche marketing. While being in a niche is a solid business plan, understand that people are people, and like people, we all are more alike than dissimilar. Do not miss out on the opportunity to reach new audiences for fear of being different; people have broad interests, personalities, and “light bulbs” that go off when they see something alien to them. If you, like many marketers focus only on niches you will pigeon hole your own growth. Now, if we marketed to our known target market we would have a finite pool (albeit enormous) but we would be missing out on people that did NOT actively know they wanted to try our products/website. The idea works the same way as “impulse buying”. Native Americans did not know Columbus came by boats because they did not “see” the boats; it wasn’t in their realm of consciousness. It was only after they were exposed to them did they “see them”. Marketing works the same way; let your product/service enter the minds of the masses and you will gain new audiences.

The affiliate program will increase your ability to make money online from home in two separate ways. First, you will see an increase in traffic to your website as referrals from your affiliate partner begin to view your site. Second, you will receive commissions from your affiliate partner for any sales they make based on a referral from your site.

Social media is not a place to drop as many links and spam as many people as possible. If you treat it as such you will be wasting your time. Behind social media are real life people like yourself. Just think how you would want to be treated. Keep in mind however this does not mean you can personally connect with each person. I love interacting with people but it is just not possible on a mass scale depending on your niche or product. To counteract this you must be as open and honest about your intentions and what you hope to bring to the community. An example of positively contributing to Digg would be to compile a list of the best of X, and truly taking your time to make it relevant to your product/service, or creating a Facebook group to raise awareness of your business with quality content.

Summary

You can really make money with your blog as long as you work on the above 3 key elements so that they work and make you blog an online income stream for you.

How To Rid Your Home Of Fleas

30 July, 2009 (05:05) | Uncategorized | By: daddyo

Flea Control

You may suffer from a flea infestation at any time if you have a pet dog or cat, or if you move into a new home where the previous occupants had animals. – Did you know that flea larvae can remain dormant for over 2 years in empty properties, only awakening from the vibrations caused when the building is re-occupied? – There are thousands of products available to deal with fleas on your pets. Call your regular veterinary center for advice on which products are recommended as they will also be able to advise on any potential side effects. For effective flea control in the home, you need to combine treating your pet and the home at the same time.

There are many species of flea but the most common found in the home are Cat Fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) and Dog Fleas (Ctenocephalides canis). To the naked eye, they both appear the same, being brown in colour and approximately 2.5mm long. The Cat Flea will live on dogs as well as cats by the way. Neither of these fleas will actually live on humans, however, they will happily hop onto us for a quick feed before returning to terrafirma. Individual flea bites present no risk to ill health. They can be recognised by a small dark spot surrounded by a slight red swelling and are commonly found on the lower leg and arm. Children playing on the floor are more susceptible to bites. Severe itchiness occurs as a result of the reaction to the flea’s saliver. As with other insect bites, the level of reaction can vary from person to person. Prolonged, multiple biting on humans can trigger an increased reaction resulting in an allergic rash and sometimes, even eczema.

Where Do You Begin?

The main source of the activity will be where your pet sleeps but eggs may also be found throughout as a result of falling off your pet as it travels around the home. Flea Control can start simply by vaccuming regularly and thoroughly throughout, this will remove many adults and eggs. And I realy mean throughout, this includes exposed floorboards, skirting boards and parquet flooring as the fine dust and debris that collects in the gaps between the wood is sufficient to harbour fleas and their eggs. Wash your pet bedding regularly (once a week for example) on a hot wash and, if possible, make sure the bed is on a non-carpeted floor. Take any rugs outside and give them a good beating to remove any eggs, fleas and faeces.

After the initial cleaning and vacuuming, you will need to apply a residual insecticide. Look for a product that specifies for use on CRAWLING INSECTS and even better, Fleas (obviously). You will need to apply this insecticide spray throughout, following the instructions on the label.

If you don’t like the idea of covering your home in insecticide and are happy to put a little more effort into your flea control, you can use a natural alternative…..
Diatomaceous Earth, or Fossil Shell Flour as it is also called, is made from the shells of tiny sea creatures. It is safe to use and can even be rubbed into your pet’s fur to kill any fleas that are present. Work it into your rugs and carpets by brushing and rub it into your pet’s bedding for a long lasting effectiveness. NB: When buying Diatomaceous Earth, be sure that it is not the type made for use in swimming pool filters. This product has been treated with additives which can be harmful.

Don’t Forget To Treat The Pets

Remember, to effectively control fleas, you need to tackle your pets at the same time as your home or else one will probably re-infest the other. There are sprays, powders, collars and tablets available to you. The best person to seek advice from is your vet. Just be aware that many veterinary centers often stock a particular brand of product, so if you don’t know your vet too well and think they may just push their particular product, you can also seek advice from dog or cat clubs.

Safeguard the Family Against Diabetes and Gum Disease…

30 July, 2009 (05:05) | Uncategorized | By: daddyo

While it is incorrect to say that there is an officially recognized direct connection between these two diseases, most researchers agree that it is likely that there is. So bear in mind, that the official verdict that diabetes and sore gums (from gum disease) are interrelated has not come yet. However, most dental professionals think and act as if they are.

What is the trouble exactly? Well, the problem involves an elevated inflammatory response. The way that periodontal disease can harm your body’s way of dealing with sugar is as follows. Unhealthy gum tissue develops into a long-term chronic infection. As a result, you may find elevated levels of inflammatory response chemicals in the blood stream. One of the unfortunate byproducts of inflammation is that the insulin receptors on the surface of the body’s cells tend to become fewer. Without as many cell receptors for insulin, it is much harder for the body to process glucose.

You are left with high blood glucose levels and this troublesome. This is merely one of the proposed theories of how these diseases are interrelated. In fact, the way that gum disease is related to many diseases may have something to do with the long term chronic infection that this disease produces.

The inflammatory response is useful for short term problems. But when the response is chronic, the body is weakened in several ways. It is important to stop periodontal disease.

Perhaps an essential oil approach would be helpful. Maybe oramd would help.

How To Rid Your Home Of Bedbugs

30 July, 2009 (05:05) | Uncategorized | By: daddyo

Of all the beasties I have had to deal with, Bedbugs have got to be the most disgusting. I hate the little things! There are many species of Bedbug but this article will deal with the Common Bedbug (Cimex lectularius), as this is the most widespread and is found in most temperate climates around the world.

The Common Bedbug feeds off human blood and doesn’t discriminate between blood groups. The adult has a flat reddish-brown oval body and measures approximately 4-5mm in length. During feeding, their body fills up with blood and expands to leave the bug resembling an “apple seed with legs”.

Bedbugs are far less common than they used to be but have been making a bit of a comeback in recent years. Whilst large infestations may still occur, these days it’s more common to deal with infestations of relatively small numbers of bugs. Bedbugs may enter the home via second-hand beds, sofas and curtains, soft furnishings and may even be transferred in luggage after visiting hotels and guesthouses, etc. They can even lay dormant for several months in empty buildings, only becoming active once again after the building has been re-occupied. Something to keep in mind if purchasing a home that has been vacant for some time!

Six-Legged Blood Suckers

Bedbugs are nocturnal, so the first sign that you have a problem, unfortunately, is when you are bitten. A telltale Bedbug bite is a series of bites close together and blood spots on the bed sheet. The Bedbug doesn’t actually bite, as it doesn’t posses biting mouthparts, rather it uses 2 hollow tubes and injects its victim with an anaesthetic and an anticoagulant. This means that the victim is unaware of the bite until sometime later with the onset of severe itchiness. Bites often occur in a small row. Reaction to the bite will vary from person to person. Some will suffer a hard welt, white in colour with a reddish swelling and secondary infection is always a risk with people scratching the itch. Telltale signs of Bedbug activity are small spots of blood on your sheets.

Controlling Bedbugs is quite difficult for the untrained amateur, so we’ll first look at prevention. Contrary to popular misconception, the cleanliness of your home has no bearing on whether you are at risk from a Bedbug infestation. Should Bedbugs find their way into your home, they will look for shelter typically in the stitching of mattresses, sofas and curtains. Bugs may also be found in gaps behind wallpaper, picture frames and skirting boards. Regular vacuuming of these locations can remove the little suckers. A cheap anti-bug barrier can be built by wrapping double-sided sticky tape around each leg of the bed. This would need replacing regularly as settling dust will reduce the adhesiveness over time, so a better solution is to place each leg into a small pot, cup or suitable container of mineral oil to create a moat-effect. This should prevent the bugs from crawling onto the bed from the floor but will not deter them from dropping down onto the bed from a higher shelf or from the wall, for example. Make sure the bed is not pushed up against a wall and that the bed linen is tucked-in and doesn’t reach to the floor.

If you are positive that you do have an infestation, then vacuuming alone is unlikely to eradicate the problem. You will need to remove all bedding and put it on a hot wash (50 Centigrade or 120 Fahrenheit). You can treat the mattress with one of those portable steam cleaners available from many retailers. Pay careful attention to any seams and around the spring buttons. Thoroughly vacuum the mattress after letting it air for a few hours. If you have a divan bed, be sure to go over the base thoroughly with the steamer. You can use a stiff brush to remove any eggs and shed skins from seams and folds. If you can dismantle your bed frame, do it, because this will show up any bugs hiding in the nooks and crannies. After de-bugging your bed and sanitizing your bedding, the last thing you want is for stray bugs re-infesting from that gap behind your wardrobe. So use this as a reason to thoroughly clean your room. Believe me, the thought of these little “sweetcorn from hell” crawling under the covers to suck your blood in the miidle of the night should be reason enough to grab a duster and apply some elbow grease! Remove drawers from any cupboards, dressers, cabinets, etc and give them a thorough cleaning. Seal any cracks and holes in the fabric of the room with a suitable sealant – a caulking gun and silicon gel is ideal for this purpose.

Should You Bring In The Pro’s?

So what about the professionals – should you just take the easy route and pay for them to solve your problem? Well if you do, they will come along and tell you to strip the bed so that they can apply a residual insecticide to the mattress and bed frame/divan base. If they are thorough and know their business, they should also look for potential harbourage throughout the room and treat these areas too. You are still going to have to deal with sanitizing your bedding, so you need to weigh up whether you want to pay for the spray or the cost of a steam cleaner. As bed bug infestations are not as common as other pests, many professional operatives lack the experience to deal with them, even within some of the larger nationwide companies. So if you are going to seek professional help, call around and choose a company that explains how they treat the problem.

The key is to spot Bedbug activity as early as possible. If done so, you are probably dealing with an infestation of small numbers. I would recommend following the guidance here to try and eradicate this problem yourself. If you’ve been unable to eradicate your bedbugs, then by all means seek professional help.

Wondering About Wood vs Plastic Cutting Boards?

29 July, 2009 (05:33) | Uncategorized | By: daddyo

Which cutting boards are safer – wood or plastic is a discussion that has been going on for sometime. Many people wonder whether bacteria remain on the service and can lead to disease after repeated use. In fact, some states banned the use of wood cutting boards in commercial kitchens because of this issue.

Dr. Dean O. Cliver, Professor Emeritus at the University of California Davis Food Safety Laboratory researched the safety of wood vs plastic cutting boards and published his findings in a report “Plastic and Wood Cutting Boards”.  Here is an excerpt from that report:

“We believe, on the basis of our published and to-be-published research, that food can be prepared safely on wooden cutting surfaces and that plastic cutting surfaces present some disadvantages that had been overlooked until we found them.”

Suggested in his study is that anti-microbial properties are inherit in wood and that surface bacteria die within minutes. They found that he bacteria were actually drawn into the wood due to the capillary action of wood. The bacteria could not reproduce once inside the wood and eventually died off.

Another point about wood boards is that an end-grain cutting board seems to have “self-healing” properties. That means that when you make a cut on an end grain board, the knife actually slices between wood fibers as opposed to cutting into them. When the knife is pulled away from the board, you should not notice a knife mark.

Dr. Cliver’s study also showed that a wooden board with heavy knife scarring was easier to clean and disinfect than a heavily knife-scarred plastic cutting board. Wood’s “self-healing” properties could very well explain this.

There are many more places for bacteria to collect and contaminate food in a plastic cutting boards because plastic is non-porous. Bacteria can be found within ridges and rough spots cause by knife wear.

Wooden boards can become traditional because of their longevity which is another point in their favor. Wooden cutting boards have been in use for hundreds of years. When you purchase high quality wooden boards, they can become family heirlooms that can be passed from generation to generation.
Old plastic cutting boards that have knife cuts all over it should definitely be thrown away. By planing down a thick wooden board, however, it will last for many years to come.

Finally, having a wood cutting board on display in your kitchen contributes to a feeling of warmth and welcome because it is considered a “warm” material. Because of the rustic charm, even modern kitchens can benefit.

High quality wooden cutting boards are a safe and attractive addition to any kitchen.

Beware False Oral Care Products For the Family…

29 July, 2009 (05:33) | Uncategorized | By: daddyo

I recently saw a product for gum disease that had a testimonial that said, “My gums look better after one brushing”. That is total nonsense – sorry to say.

There is not a miracle cure that works after one application. I would RUN, not walk, away from any website that promises such nonsense.

As a matter of fact, when it comes to gum disease, there is not a single product that will work for everyone who tries it. Every body’s chemistry and ever body’s situation is different.

This is the same reason that medicine is an art and not a science. here is no medication that works for everyone hands down. There are exceptions.

Sometimes it requires several products in combination to do the job. Or perhaps the right training and techniques are needed. At any rate, gum disease is not really a problem that is so easy to solve. Try OraMd as one possibility

I’ve studied this subject for a while due to the need to solve my own problem and now I study it because it interests me. The body is a complicated organism and what works for one may not work for another.

I’m definitely an advocate of products that I have personally found to be useful, such as an ozone generatorfor ozonating water. But there is also some basics that need to be understood about gum disease. You need to understand what you are fighting so that you can be sure that it doesn’t come back. You also need to be effective in what you are doing.

Sure you can throw a board over a broken window. But a bit more skill is needed to repair that window properly. Look to the links below for more information on what you can to do to stop gum disease and prevent it from coming back. Some products, like therabreath may have more value than others. Again, one size does NOT fit all.

Be advised this article is for information purposes only and does not intend to offer diagnosis or treatment advice. If you have or think you might have gum disease or any other type of health problem, visit your periodontist or physician for advice, diagnosis and treatment.

The Guide to Throwing Affordable Recession-era Birthday Bashes

29 July, 2009 (05:33) | Uncategorized | By: daddyo

The economy is making it hard for a lot of people right now but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate birthdays with style. If you need to create a birthday party for someone you love, these tips will help keep expenses down, while still creating an event everyone will remember:

Be Creative with the Birthday Party Theme

Why not try an unusual theme that would also be affordable for both your guests and you? If you’re giving a children’s party, you can ask all the guests to bring affordable gifts suitable to give to a regional animal rescue organization or family homeless shelter. If you call the organization’s manager, you can compile a list of low-cost items that can be included with the invitations you send to your guests. Instruct them to wrap the items as if they were regular birthday gifts and then the entire party can meet at the organization to deliver them. This would not only be meaningful for everyone involved but it would also give children first-hand experience with how good it feels to give to others.

If the event is for an adult, you can help your guests save money by having a recycling/re-gifting party. Most people have at least one gift in their closets that they’ve been given but don’t want, so let them wrap them up and give them again! Make sure to let them know who is coming to the party though, so people don’t re-gift items they received from other party guests! If you’re worried about hurt feelings, this idea also works well for items that people have bought new on impulse but never used. Make sure to provide a specific dollar limit for the recycled items, so people at all income levels can participate.

Make Your Own Birthday Party Decorations and Invitations

The Web has an unbelievable selection of printable birthday invitations for both adults and kids. So why waste your money on store-bought invitations when printing them at home is so easy and inexpensive? There are also lots of birthday clipart options online, which make great party decorations. If you can find large enough art, you can make your own banners and signs for the party. If you can’t find the right kind of art, you can at least use smaller art to make table place holders or to cut out and sprinkle throughout flower arrangements or plants. If you like vintage, try printing and cutting out various vintage greeting cards and attaching them to a string that you drape around the room or the cake table. This is an easy way to get a vintage feel and make the party more festive! To finish off the vintage theme, you can get mix-and-match used plates and silverware at a thrift store instead of buying paper plates and plastic knives, forks and spoons.

The most important thing to remember when trying to save money on a birthday party is that you need to be creative. If you infuse style into your party plans, no one will ever know you did it on the cheap!

What is a good house painter

29 July, 2009 (05:33) | Uncategorized | By: daddyo

One of the most valuable assets we will ever have has to be our homes.  I am not just talking about financially. That is a huge part of it.But what I am referring to is the very fact that this is your personal home.It is where you live.It is where your family grow up.  It is a place where you are going to have many fond memories.

With that being the situation, of course people are going to care for it.  From home improvements, to just keeping it clean.  One of the biggest things a family can do to their home is paint it.  I know it is a big deal to families from my experience running my own San Diego painting contractor company.

With that in mind, it is critical to hire the right person to do the painting work.  A good painter can mean all the difference inthe world. And when it concerns dealing with one of your most prized assets, I am positive that you would think it is important as well.

So what qualities does a good painter have?  Well from my experience painting San Diego it is a few things.

First, they have to be reliable.Nobody wants to take on a contractor that you just can trust who you can’t rely upon to do a good job.  From doing things timely.  To showing up to work everyday.Hard to comprehend, but there will be a few people who you can hire that you
just can’t rely upon.

Second is the person an artist at heart. You might be thinking does that have any relation with anything. I say plenty.  Of course I am biased considering my crew of painters San Diego are like artists.  Reason I say this is because you don’t want
somebody who just whips paint onto the walls.  You want to find someone who treats the job like a work of art.

If you are able to find a person like that, you will be in for a treat. A simple paint job can turn a drab room into a beautiful vibrant room.  You can turn your old house into one that looks like a model home.

Finally, you want to find somebody that truly cares about his work.  How can you tell?Easy, just talk to several contractors. You will be able to see just who is out for the money between those that reall want to serve you and do a good job. Those that have that attitude of service you can trust to do a good job.

Follow these few tips and make sure to hire a good painter.  You won’t be disappointed.

How to decide on senior home care

29 July, 2009 (05:33) | Uncategorized | By: daddyo

One of the most difficult things for adults that have been given the responsiblity of caring for elderly parents is how to decide to care for them. What I am talking about is having to decide between a nursing home or home care.Of course this only happens if you yourself cannot take care of them due to work or family life constraints.

Well when faced with that choice, I am going to offer some perspective I have gained from running my own senior home care La Mesa.

When making the decision between a nursing home or a home care is difficult. But a majority of the times if your parents are still pretty independant, home care will be the best option. This gives them the ability to be comfortable by staying in their home and keeps their independance.  Those benefits are lost in a nursing home.

Well when you come to a conclusion, seeking outside help is a difficult decision.  After all you are going to entrust a lot of the responsibilites that were yours to someone else. You will have to be able to trust someone in the taking care of your parent or parents without your guidance. This is a difficult thing for you to do if you take into consideration seniors are so vulnerable.

So when coming to that decision of hiring a home care agency and having to pick the right one it is difficult.  You have to make sure you choose the right company.I have seen it personally that it is difficult in having to choose the right one from talking with
clients who have hired my Senior Home care Oceanside company.

You have to find a committed and compassionate company. You have to seek and find that good company with a good staff as well.  Most of all you have to find a good company with good quality people.

One thing I am sure you don’t want is to end up picking some company that is a fly by night.  You want a company with a good reputation, good track history, etc.

So if you do your homework you can find the right company. It might require you shopping around. But that is not a problem.  It might take some interviewing of companies.  But that will be well worth it.  Because once you find a good home health care La Mesa, you will have peace. You will be able to rest assure that your parents are going to be in good hands.
