Dry Carpet Cleaning Avoids Liquid Mess

30 May, 2009 (19:39) | Uncategorized | By: daddyo

Looking for a mean of cleaning your carpets without all the liquid chemicals, which can cause spots to reappear as it dries, you may consider dry carpet cleaning equipment as a dryer, cleaner alternative.

While the cleaners used in dry carpet cleaning equipment may still be wet, they generally use a carbonating cleaner to remove stains. Similar to using a club soda on stains in clothing, these carbonating cleaners are used sparingly to break down the dirt and stains in a carpet and are then extracted to be virtually dry immediately after cleaning.

A company called ChemDry, www.chemdry.com, has perfected this method of cleaning and several franchises are locate throughout the company to help make their dry carpet cleaning equipment available for cleaning your carpets. You can have it cleaned in the morning and use it that night.

No Soapy Liquids Left Behind

Typical carpet cleaners use water and liquid detergents to clean. What really happens is that they leave a wet soapy residue to dry on the rug. This wetness becomes a main attraction for dirt and often pulls dirt from under the rug to bring stains to the surface. Another company using dry carpet cleaning equipment is at www.drycarpet.com which uses Swedry cleaners of clean and leave the carpet dry in a matter of minutes.

Since nearly all carpet dirt, an estimated 85 percent, can be removed by vacuuming, this process uses a moistened granular cleaner to get to remaining 15 percent, usually comprised of grease and oils. Using dry carpet cleaning equipment the rug is thoroughly vacuumed before the granules are applied. They break down and absorb the oily dirt and then are vacuumed up with the dry carpet cleaning equipment and removed.

Because the granules are moistened and not wet, the carpet is ready for use at about the same time the dry carpet cleaning equipment is done doing its job. The big secret to dry carpet cleaning equipment is the vacuuming process. By removing all loose dirt from a carpet with a quality vacuum cleaner before using any dry carpet cleaning equipment increase your chance of success at achieving a cleaner, healthier carpet.

While some people insist a carpet isn’t clean unless it has been saturated with wet chemical cleaners, dry carpet cleaning is fast becoming a trend. The ability to clean only a high traffic section of a carpet and blend it in with the rest of the areas or reducing downtime associated with wet carpet cleaning, dry carpet cleaning equipment use is growing at a rapid pace.

Free Hercules Hooks

love them!
3/10/2009 – Hannah of Missouri, USA writes:
I love these. I’m a school student, so I’m constantly living in terraces and other places where I’m not allowed to use anything larger than small picture nails in the walls. These make holes the same size (maybe a miniscule bit bigger ) but safely hold a load more weight. I have used them successfully to hold up a heavy mirror, a coat shelf, and a medication shelf in my toilet, in addition to numerous footage and smaller items. The only bummers about these, in my view, are that they only work in drywall portions of the walls (I almost need a stud finder to aviod them using these!). Also, the hook part is rather large, so some times things seem to hang further from the wall than I am used to.

Works well
2/14/2009 – Shelly of IL, US writes:
I truly like these for hanging little items like picture frames. You can’t use them for certain heavier items, though it claims you can. Also, your walls have to be drywall. My mother has plaster walls and they do not work for her. You also clearly can’t put these into the studs. They don’t damage the walls and leave very tiny holes which are easily fixed once removed. I adore them, but they don’t replace good normal screws and anchors.

Arg.
1/25/2009 – rebecca of FL, USA writes:
I wish I had walls with sufficient room for these to work. Some folks must, because I’ve read such good reviews. However, not me. It was very easy to bump the hook thru the drywall, but there is just not enough space in my wall for the hook to make the turn and slide all the way in. I am extraordinarily disappointed, particularly as the thing made a big hole. Far bigger than a finishing nail let alone a pin!

Thumbs Up on the Hooks
1/3/2009 – Phil of Texas, USA writes:
These things do work. I acquired them at a retail drug store and avoided some of the on line ordering hassles (shipping charges, incorrect credit charges). I’ve used them on drywall and have not begun to hang up anything more than a 15 pound frame. So far, they’re great. Vert simple to install (try a back & forth screwing motion into the wall if you are having trouble getting it in ). They are much faster than a drywall screw or molly bolt and do much less damage to your wall. We are re-doing our living room and I just purchased a new pack for the pictures we will hang. Billy Mays got this one right.

WONDERFUL
12/18/2008 – Catherine, Tulsa, Ok of Oklahoma, USA writes:
I am a stroke survivor. With limited use of left hand. Putting a nail in the wall was very unlikely with out help. I purchased these before my up to date move. I was stoked I was able to hang all my favourite wall items/pictures in my own after all these years! Thank you Billy!!

WONDERFUL INVENTION!!!
10/19/2008 – JB of TN, USA writes:
I’ve hung everything from lightweight pictures to heavy foils on wooden plaques. I have sheetrock walls and they work really well in them. You just twist the hook back and forth to get it started and voila, push it all the way through and the end that you pushed thru the wall will catch against the back side of the wall. Then hang your item. The hole is small but indeed bigger than any pin that I’ve ever seen. It is often simpler if you mark your spot with a pencil particularly if the spot is over your head. I did not buy mine via web, so I did not have any of the common trouble with rude CSR’s and such. NOR the stupid delivery costs that you sometimes get. Buy them at a store to avoid that. Yes, I’d definitely counsel them. These hooks are amazing!

Awesome product!
9/30/2008 – Jen of Georgia, USA writes:
I acquired this product at a local retail store after seeing the infomercials. It is so easy to use and makes hanging things so simple. I had avoided hanging anything on my walls for more than a year out of fear of damaging my walls. with these hooks, you do not have to fret about using the right nail, or anchors, or any of that mess, just stick it in the wall and hang the item. the only issue is if you hit a stud, but then you simply move over a little bit and the issue is solved. The holes are not pin sized, but they are not any bigger than the hole a finishing nail would leave. I bought a pack of twenty, and used all but 2 in one day hanging everything I had been avoiding. An awesome product!

Love it! Five Stars
9/20/2008 – Rae Malee of Texas, USA writes:
We love this product. What more can I say. I wish I had more. When we moved I made sure I had everybody of them to use at our new home. I wish I had invented them.

Don’t Get Ripped Off On Your Next New Orleans Home Improvement

29 May, 2009 (16:14) | Uncategorized | By: daddyo

Finding contractors for Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling in New Orleans is too often a difficult process. With so many friendly and easy going experts out there, there’s no reason for this to be the case. Check out these tips to save you some stress.

1. Don’t Be A Sucker!
Make sure you research your potential contractors thoroughly. A supposedly quick job can turn into weeks of drama if you don’t get someone of quality. Be certain that the tradesman has excellent references that can actually be verified. Any contractor worth his salt would be only too happy to have their work speak for themselves.

2. Here Today..!
How long has your prospective contractor been in business? Did he just get fired for poor performance from his previous employer and as a result has started his own company?
Look for someone who has been in business for a while. Just like Darwin’s theory – it’s survival of the fittest! The home improvement community here in New Orleans has a way of sorting out the men from the boys. A company with twenty plus years experience in the New Orleans home improvement industry is going to be a much safer bet than someone just starting out.

3. Please & Thank You
This may sound a little cliche, but contractors who are polite and courteous on the phone are generally the same guys who show up on time and leave your house neat and tidy. Too frequently do we accept rudeness as just part of a contractors character but then get so mad when they leave the place in a mess. Use your head, get reliable New Orleans remodeling. Always remember, If it’s too cheap to be true…

So in closing, take your time, plan ahead and don’t be afraid to ask some tough questions. I’d much rather that you were assertive now instead of dealing with a rickety fence, siding that’s falling off and a hole in the roof later. Believe me, I’ve seen it happen!

Can I get a free online criminal record search

28 May, 2009 (20:03) | Uncategorized | By: daddyo

There are no central data-banks for federal, state and local criminal records. There are more than 3600 counties, 10,000 federal, state and local courts, and 50 state repositories around the united states. Not all states and counties submit their criminal record information to any type of statewide or a national database.

Before the Internet age, all criminal record search records could only be accessed manually. There was no such thing as a nationwide database of criminal records. Small amounts of information were stored in various databases by local communities, counties and states. Therefore, retrieving free criminal public records meant going through all local, parish, county, or state registries. This is of course, time-consuming, expensive, and difficult even for a savvy public records researcher.

For employers, a criminal record search offers protection for your organization. You can protect your company with comprehensive background checks, including criminal record search to make sure that you are dealing with a person with good character.

In large research firms, Internet research usually only comprises the first small half of the job. The bulk of the job involves physically going to courts, public libraries, hospitals, state registries, et cetera in order to get the documents needed. But no matter how small a part Internet research might play in public records research, it still plays vital role.

Criminal record searches and background checks helps a company make better-informed decisions during the pre-employment screening. The information they provide are indispensable as they are the determinants of a person’s character. In a way, criminal record search and background reports are steps that a company can take to protect its own interest. There have been too many cases in the past wherein no background checks whatsoever was made on an individual and so when that individual was hired as an employee and then later on committed a crime in the context of his or her job, the company was held liable.

Several states in the U.S. have laws requiring criminal record search and background checks during pre-employment proceedings. States, such as Florida, are especially particular about criminal record search records and background checks on certain industries where care is provided as a service. Thus, any prospective employee or volunteer of a facility for the elderly, children, and people with disabilities are required by state statute and by federal law to undergo free criminal records and background checks.

Nanny Cams: Giving You Peace Of Mind While You’re Away From Your Child

27 May, 2009 (09:10) | Uncategorized | By: daddyo

Today, we understand that each parent has to work. Since there is no parent to stay home with the children, we are forced to hire a nanny to look after them. We are not able to stay at home at home all the time, because we are too busy trying to earn money in order to support those children. You should never leave children home by themselves, so hiring is the best bet. No matter how much research you have done on that nanny, even if their background report shows that they are clear, that does not mean they are not bad. Have you ever heard of nanny cams? We believe the best is the teddy bear nanny cam.

At some point or another, we have to trust our children with someone. All of your relatives and friends have plans and are unable to babysit, but you have to be somewhere and are unable to take your kid along. This is the perfect circumstance in which you would have no other choice but find a last-minute babysitter. Instead of canceling your plans, simply get a teddy bear nanny cam to place in the room you expect your child to be in the most. The teddy bear nanny cam looks like any ordinary teddy bear, only it contains a hidden camera inside. Your nanny would never suspect it!

There are many nanny cams to choose from, it’s just a matter of deciding what your needs are, and then finding a product that meets them. For instance, perhaps you want distinctly clear image recording—you may want to purchase a digital nanny cam. There are also a variety of shapes and sizes to consider when choosing your nanny cams, as well as price range.

In our opinion, the teddy bear nanny cam seems to be the most effective, however you might wish to go a step further and simply purchase regular security cameras around the house. Tell your nanny flat-out that the cameras are on all the time and that you regularly check the recordings. This type of camera system is great for doubling as a general security system for burglaries, fires, etc.

Wireless Home Alarms

27 May, 2009 (09:10) | Uncategorized | By: daddyo

More and more homeowners are seeing the need to install a home security alarm system.  It is only natural when you consider the realities of life today.  In many neighborhoods, you would be hard pressed to locate a home without a security alarm system.  The majority of those who haven’t added an alarm system are held back because of the work of installing an alarm into older construction.  The older style alarm systems and home surveillance systems were not easy to install and the real downside was they were quite easily located by criminals.

Today’s modern wireless security alarm systems are much easier to install and more difficult for a criminal to find and over ride.  The fact that they are wireless means the home owner doesn’t have to worry about wiring his entire house.  These wireless alarms communicate via radio frequency waves to transfer necessary data.  Since the system is wireless, this frees the installer to place the brains of the unit just about anywhere and makes it very difficult for a burgler to find.

The wireless home alarm system protects your home and family in several ways.  When installed properly, it will monitor all doors and windows and will alert you if anything is left opened.  The sytem will tell you when anyone enters or leaves your home.  The window monitors will give early warning if anyone forces a window open.  Since the system is wireless, there is less chance of anyone finding controlling module of your system in an attempt to disable it.  The security alarm can even call the security agency or even call the police.  Needless to say, the simplest wireless home security alarm system will give your entire family an added feeling of security.

Many home owners will also install a surveillance camera system when installing the alarm system.  In many cases this part of the install can be a homeowner’s do-it-yourself project.  There are all kinds of surveillance cameras and components to allow anyone with just basic electronic knowledge to upgrade their security systems.  More and more home owners are installing video cameras with wide angle lenses to keep watch on their properties in their absence.  Of course they also can give an early warning of anyone approaching your home at any time of the night and day.  When tied into the internet via your PC, the home owner can even keep watch on their property when at work or on the road via the wireless web.  There is no doubt that installing a wireless home security system is a great step in protecting your property and family.

How Are Computers and Magazines Different

27 May, 2009 (09:10) | Uncategorized | By: daddyo

Computers store information on hard disk drives versus magazines which store  information on printed paper.  In the age of ones and zeros, consumers and businesses sometimes claim that they are paper free.  Paper free workplaces state that all their work is now done using computers so no printed pages are necessary.  On the otherhand, magazines now have online subscriptions as well as printed and mailed hard copies.  Computers and magazines both offer advantages when it comes to their preferred media.

The magazine started long before the computer, of course, and dates back to the mid 1700s.  Portable and full of information ranging from the fashion trends to politics, the magazine has always been easy to carry and readily available.  The magazine stand once could be found on nearly every corner.  Now the magazine stand is usually located in the nearby bookstore, drugstore, or grocery market.

The magazine has also evolved from a simple publication with only a few pages of text to a bright, text and image filled attention grabber with content written to precision.  With the invention of computers, publishers of magazines have found it necessary to post online versions as well as the paper copy.

The top magazines of today publish as much information on the Internet as they do in the magazine.  Computers and magazines are excellent resources when extensive knowledge of a subject is necessary.

Computers and magazines co-exist today.  Find a popular article on the internet and you will also find the same subject in a published magazine article on the shelves of the your local magazine outlets.

Magazine publishers now have the ability of reaching many different markets at the same time.  Their articles on computer technology can be read in the dentist office or barbershop while a PDA can display the same article over the web.

For quick research in the office, employees may search the Internet to find information on a particular topic.  That same topic probably is also in the magazine that sits in the bathroom magazine rack in their home.  Computers and magazines are intertwined in everyday life.

When researching a particular topic, computers and magazines together complement.  Magazines usually contain well written in depth articles on a particular topic. The computer, however, is more powerful in that the topic can be searched instantly with limitless possibilities of results.  Using both computers and magazines with provide you with the most complete coverage of your selected subject.

Why Glass Vases Are Used To Display Flowers

27 May, 2009 (09:10) | Uncategorized | By: daddyo

When we get some fresh flowers what’s our first action? Invariably we look for appropriate glass vases that we can display them in. People have used glass vases to display their flowers ever since it was invented, but what is the logic behind the glass dominance. Well there is logic behind it believe it or not and here are the main reasons:

Easy to clean. Because glass is a non-pores material it is easy to wipe clean. Additionally, because of its colour, dirt shows up pretty clearly. All sorts of fungus and microbes breed in vases so it is very important that they are cleaned thoroughly each time before they are used. Lead crystal vases are often a little more expensive but they are actually known to have antibacterial qualities

Photosynthesis. photosynthesis is the process whereby plants convert light from the sun into their very own energy. Put simply, if you deprive a plant from light its growth will be stunted and it may even die. This is the reasoning behind flowers being positioned where they have access to plenty of light. The maximum amount of light is let in by glass vases and therefore the flower is given the best chance to perform photosynthesis and survive for the max amount of time.

Viewing pleasure. This is as simple as can be. We want to be able to see the most amount of any flower that we can…we want to get our moneys worth and glass is ideal for this. Actually, you’ll often see that a number of the characteristics that make plants so beautiful are things that are found below within the depth of the vase, which would be lost if it where not transparent. This is the same reason that we use wine glasses, so that we can actually enjoy the view of what is being contained.
